[Athrun casts a quick glance over in Enterprise's direction to see what she's doing and if she needs any help. When it looks like she's fine, he returns his full attention to New Jersey.]
It was nothing. Seeing everyone return to base alive is thanks enough for me.
[He can't help but offer a little smile as he says that, though.]
Anything you need my assistance with, or shall I just keep you company?
Other than helping out a few nervous fresh faces, nothing really worrisome's comin' to mind! [...]
Well, actually, that's a bit of a fib. What were those things from earlier? It's obvious they weren't Sirens, but they don't look like anythin' I might've seen elsewhere...
[At least Athrun's machine felt like something she could piece together without having to pry for details. Their riggings were technically running off similar principles...]
[This time, Athrun is justifying it to himself by not being so much work as it is wanting to be there for the girls. He likes spending time with them, after all.]
I don't know, either. Even the CIC at the base marked them as bogeys, so I'm as in the dark about this as you.
[Another thing that was very typical of Athrun -- launching to meet an unidentified enemy because people he cares about were in danger. To be fair, he's very good at buying time in combat, so his typical strategy of "engage the strongest enemy and keep them busy while his allies take out other important targets" tends to work. But he definitely values the lives of his loved ones more than his own.]

Still the same ol' workaholic, huh? I mean, I can't blame you for wanting to double check everything after that last scuffle, but still...
