[ Within a few seconds, the machine whirs to life, it's right hand, slowly raised to point 'up', or whatever is considered up relative to the Astral Express, and then fired a small pulse of blue-white beam in that direction; fizzling in a short distance.

It's able to move, there is enough power, but whatever damage it has seems to be internal. ]

[Hm. Not how he imagined this going, but... the Star of Eden's milder applications should be able to keep his machine tethered to the Express for the time being. Until then, retrieving him should take priority.

Welt fixes his glasses.]

Seems we won't be able to fix it right away. We'll try to bring you back to Herta Space Station so we can have it looked at properly.

For now, get ready to board. We're bringing the Express in closer.

-py that.

[ With that, the cockpit hatch of the robot, located near the torso opens, and well.

A young man in full pilot suit appears, floating towards one of the Astral Express' entry doorway. Because well.

When boarding a space train. Might as well do it properly. ]

[...between the youths manning the Express's trailblazing expedition teams, and the ones he knows from home, it seems like the world keeps dragging the youth into things they're much too young to be dealing with. At least this one looks like he's gotten settled into his role...

It takes some time, but--Welt's the first to greet him after the... somewhat nebulous rescue process that eventually got him and that troublemaker out of their situation. (He still wasn't sure how they managed that. Was it Akivili's path doing the work? Something else? Hm. It's been a while -- he might need to recheck his memoirs on how that went...) He watches March, Den Heng and Stelle pass them -- gently waves them on their way before returning his attention to their newest rescue.]

Hello. I have to say, we weren't quite expecting to make another rescue on our way to our next destination...

[The train passing by them must have been especially serendipitous on Shinn's part; he casts a glance at the machine again.]

How long were you there for, exactly?

To be honest, I wasn't expecting that a train is actually space worthy enough for a rescue operation, so we're the same in that regard.

[ At this point Shinn's helmet has been removed, his unkempt dark hair now visible for everyone to see alongside his red eyes, noticing the other people that just passed by the pair as he puts their faces in his memory before turning back to the older man. ]

Give or take several minutes; 2 system hours. As for how I ended up here... I have no idea. But I sure know I'm nowhere near neither Earth's airspace nor PLANT's for that matter.

[For his part, Welt can't help but laugh a little.]

It's straight out of a cartoon, isn't it? While it isn't the first time a train's ever been put out in the wide open sea of stars like this, I'd say it's the first time I've ever seen it put to practice and actually working out.

[Not counting the other things he's seen, anyway. That's a topic he tends to keep to his chest.]

...oh, sorry. I got a little caught up in that thought.

[Silly him. He's spent way too much time in the animating business and it probably shows.

Welt straightens out, parsing the rest of the boy's statements.]

It doesn't look like we'll get a proper answer to that question for a bit, but I'm glad we found you when we did. Pom-Pom should have something whipped up for you soon in case you're hungry.

[...as for the matter of those places he mentioned, he can ask about that after he gets the guy's name.]

Ah, right. I'm Welt Yang. If there's something you need help with, you can come find me anytime.
